Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed his maiden test ton in the ongoing Boxing Day test of the BGT 2024-25.
Thanks to Nitish Kumar Reddy’s incredible knock, India have recovered well to give themselves an outside chance of saving the Boxing Day test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 in Melbourne.
Nitish walked in when India were at 191/6, struggling to avoid the follow-on. He joined experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to put together a 30-run partnership before teaming up with Washington Sundar, who made his comeback after missing the last two tests.
Reddy and Sundar formed a 127-run partnership helping the visitors surpass the 350-run mark in their first innings. The most incredible moment of the day came late in the final session when the 21-year-old all-rounder brought up his century, with India having just one wicket remaining.
Nitish’s incredible unbeaten 105-run knock includes 10 fours and a six. He will resume his innings tomorrow, aiming to add as many runs as possible to give India a fighting chance in the second innings.
A heartwarming new video has emerged showing Nitish Reddy’s family meeting him after his innings to congratulate him on his achievement.
