Virat Kohli has played 100 out of 541 international cricket matches against the Aussies.

The highly awaited third test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 kicked off on Saturday, December 14 at the Gabba in Brisbane. Opting to bowl first, India made two key changes to their lineup. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja replaced Ravichandran Ashwin, while Akash Deep got the nod over Harshit Rana. On the other hand Josh Hazlewood replaced Scott Boland in Australia’s playing XI.

Frequent rain interruptions allowed only 13.2 overs on the opening day. Australia negated the tricky passage of play comfortably to finish with a score of 28/0. Usman Khawaja (19*) and Nathan McSweeney (4*) will resume the proceedings on the second day. Meanwhile, the Indian seamers struggled to extract any notable movement from what seems to be a batting Gabba pitch.

Amid frequent rain breaks, the game also witnessed Virat Kohli joining Sachin Tendulkar as only the second cricketer to play 100 international games against Australia.
