20 teams will clash for the title in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The countdown has begun for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament will start next month in India and Sri Lanka. Like the previous edition, 20 teams will lock horns in the tournament for the title. The ICC tournament will commence on February 7 and witness the final on March 8.
A few teams have already announced their squads for the T20 World Cup 2026. India were the first nation to announce their squad for the campaign, naming a 15-member side with Suryakumar Yadav as the captain. Australia, Sri Lanka, England, Oman, and Afghanistan are the other few teams that have revealed their squads.
Notably, Australia, England, and Sri Lanka have announced a provisional squad for the tournament, which means that they will confirm their final squad later. According to International Cricket Council (ICC) rules, teams can make changes to their squad one week ahead of the tournament.
Teams are allowed to make changes to their squad till January 31

Since the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will begin on February 7, all teams are allowed to make changes to their squads until January 31. They will have to submit their final 15-member team before this date.
After this deadline, no teams will be allowed to modify their squad unless there is a case of serious injury or medical emergency. However, teams still need ICC approval for such changes. Moreover, only reserve players are allowed to replace injured players in such cases.
Meanwhile, India won the previous edition of the T20 World Cup. They defeated South Africa in the final to lift their second T20 WC title. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. will aim for their third title in the tournament’s history. They are placed in Group A with Pakistan, USA, Netherlands, and Namibia.
All 20 teams are divided into four groups of five teams each. According to the format, two teams from each pool will qualify for the Super 8 Round, where they will be further divided into two groups.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, while the winners of the semis will face each other in the final. The summit clash will take place on March 8.
