Regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of the current generation, Shakib Al Hasan has taken 492 wickets in 444 T20 games at an average of 21.5 and an economy of 6.8.
The Bangladesh spinner has been a key player for his country and franchises. He recorded his best T20 bowling figures of 6/6 against Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in 2013.
4. Imran Tahir – 531 wickets
Veteran South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir has snared 531 wickets in 428 T20 matches. The 45-year-old still plays in a few franchise leagues around the world.
His impressive wickets tally has come at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 7. His last appearance in T20I came in 2019 against Sri Lanka at Cape Town.
3. Sunil Narine – 574 wickets
Sunil Narine has been dominating T20 cricket for over 14 years now. Since making his debut in 2011, the mystery spinner has taken 574 wickets in 536 T20 matches at an average of 21.6 and an economy rate of 6.12.
He played a key role in West Indies’ World Cup-winning campaign in 2012 and in Kolkata Knight Riders’ three IPL title wins. Narine has also become a destructive opener in T20 cricket.
2. Dwayne Bravo – 631 wickets
Dwayne Bravo has played a key role in popularizing T20 cricket across the globe. An entertainer with both bat and the ball, Bravo took 631 wickets in his 582-match career, claiming his wickets at an average of 24.4 and an economy rate of 8.26.
His best bowling performance of 5/23 came against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2018 in the Caribbean Premier League.
Bravo is a multiple-time T20 World Cup and IPL winner.
1. Rashid Khan – 633 wickets
Rashid Khan holds the record for the most wickets in T20 cricket. The Afghanistan leg-spinner has taken 633 wickets in 461 T20 matches at an average of 18 and an economy rate of 6.5.
He registered his best bowling figures of 6/17 against Brisbane Heat in 2022 at the Adelaide Oval. He has four five-wicket hauls under his belt.
He has also improved his batting recently, establishing himself as a reliable finisher.
