Three Indians made into the ICC men’s test team of the year 2024.

The ICC men’s test team of the year 2024 was announced by the cricket’s governing council on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Three Indians, four Englishmen, two New Zealanders, one Australian and one Sri Lankan are part of this XI.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ben Duckett are picked as the openers in the ICC men’s test team of the year 2024. The Indian youngster was the second-highest test scorer in 2024 with 1478 runs, and the England left-handed opener was the third-highest, with 1149 runs.

The leading run-scorer of 2024 was Joe Root, who scored 1556 runs and is penciled in at No. 4 in the ICC men’s test team of the year 2024. At No. 3 is New Zealand legend Kane Williamson, who averaged 59 in nine tests.

England’s Jamie Smith was the highest scorer among wicket-keepers in test cricket in 2024, 637 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja is the all-rounder in the ICC test team of the year 2024 for scoring 527 runs at an average of 29 and picking up 48 wickets at an average of 24 last year.

Pat Cummins elevated his status as an all-rounder in tests last year. Apart from picking up 37 wickets, Cummins also scored 306 runs. Under Cummins, Australia won six tests and lost only two. Their win/loss ratio of 3 was the best among all test teams in 2024. Australia also regained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy under Cummins, who has duly earned his position as the captain of the ICC men’s test team of the year 2024.

Jasprit Bumrah was the highest wicket-taker in test cricket in 2024 with 71 scalps. Matt Henry inched ahead of Gus Atkinson in the ICC test team of the year 2024. The Kiwi pacer took 48 wickets at an average of 18.
