Cameron Green suffered side injury during the training session.

Australia Cricket Team have suffered a big blow ahead of their ODI series against Indian Cricket Team as all-rounder Cameron Green has been ruled out due to an injury. According to Cricket Australia (CA), Green experienced discomfort in his side during a training session ahead of the first ODI.

The 26-year-old will undergo a short rehabilitation and then will prepare for Ashes 2025-26. The much-awaited test series is scheduled to be played on November 21. He is also expected to play in Western Australia’s Sheffield Shield match on October 28. Notably, Green underwent lower back surgery in October 2024 to treat his stress fracture and made comeback in the recent T20I series against New Zealand.

CA also announced that Marnus Labuschagne has been added to Australia squad for the upcoming ODI series against India. Labuschagne was initially overlooked due to his poor batting show in the previous series against South Africa, where he failed to score big.

In an official statement, CA informed that Green has been ruled out of the ODI series against India with a low-grade injury and has been rested as a precaution.

“Green will complete a short period of rehabilitation and is tracking to return to play in round three of the Sheffield Shield to continue his preparation for the Ashes,” CA said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Labuschagne has earned his call-up after his fabulous performance in the domestic circuit. Since September, the 31-year-old batter has hammered four centuries in domestic circuit for Queensland, two each in List A and first-class cricket. Labuschagne will join the Australia ODI squad in Perth following Queensland’s match in Adelaide in the Sheffield Shield 2025-26.

Notably, this is the third change in Australia’s ODI squad against India. Previously, Adam Zampa opted out of the first ODI due to personal reasons and wicketkeeper Josh Inglis was ruled out of the match due to recovery from a calf injury.

They were replaced by Matthew Kuhnemann and Josh Philippe. Alex Carey will also return for the last two games of the three-match series. The first ODI between India and Australia will take place on October 19 at Perth Cricket Stadium in Perth.
