Cheteshwar Pujara continues his brilliant form in 2023 English County Championship, hits second ton in three matches for Sussex

Cheteshwar Pujara is having a brilliant outing in the 2023 English County Championship as he hammered his second ton in three matches for Sussex, this time the century coming against Gloucestershire on April 29, 2023.
Pujara is one of the members of the Indian squad which will take on Australia in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship 2023 (WTC 2023) final which will be played at the Oval from June 7-11, 2023.
The Saurashtra batter has arrived in England early to help India end its ICC silverware drought, having last clinched a silverware back in 2013 under MS Dhoni's leadership.
This time his century came at the Bristol County ground against Gloucestershire on day three of the ongoing match. Pujara had ended day two on 99* and completed his century milestone early on day three.

Pujara reached his hundred off 191 balls on Day 3 of the match after Sussex was sent into bat. Earlier this month, Pujara had slammed 115 on his Sussex full-time captaincy debut at Hove against Durham.
He finished on 151 in 238 balls, comprising 20 fours and two sixes in the first innings. Tom Alsop (67) and James Coles (74) also played a helping hand as Sussex declared their innings on 455/5, with Oli Carter also making 59*.
Earlier Pujara had scored Pujara scored 115 off 163 balls against Durham in the first innings. His knock consisted of 13 fours and a six. This is his seventh century in county cricket. He has been able to convert all his fifty-plus scores into centuries.
Pujara was in fine form for Sussex last year as well. In eight matches last year in the Championship, he scored 1,094 runs at an average of 109.40. He scored five half-centuries last year, with the best score of 231.
He was the fourth-highest run-scorer in the division behind Wayne Madsen (1,273 for Derbyshire), Haseeb Hameed (1,235 for Nottinghamshire) and Sam Northeast (1,189 for Glamorgan).
Not only this but with his century, he surpassed Wasim Jaffer’s tally of 57 First-Class tons to take the fourth spot among the Indians with the most FC centuries. Sachin Tendulkar (81), Sunil Gavaskar (81), Rahul Dravid (68), and Vijay Hazare (60) rank above Pujara on the list.
