Chris Gayle made more than 4500 runs in IPL with six centuries and best score of 175*.
In a recent interview, West Indies legend Chris Gayle selected an all-time Indian Premier League (IPL) playing XI that included some of the biggest talents in the league. Six-time IPL title winner Rohit Sharma was left off Gayle’s list, and Mumbai Indians (MI) players Hardik Pandya and Lasith Malinga also missed out.
Throughout his career, Gayle was a member of the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In 142 games, he amassed 4,965 runs at a strike rate of 148.97 and an average of 39.72, including 31 half-centuries and six centuries. With RCB, he also won the Orange Cap twice.
Gayle included seven Indian cricketers and four overseas players in his all-time IPL XI, but surprisingly left out MI’s five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma. The right-hander has scored over 6,500 runs in the IPL for the MI and now defunct Deccan Chargers (DC).
Chris Gayle’s all-time IPL XI: Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Suresh Raina included

Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Gayle selected Virat Kohli, a former teammate of his from the RCB, and himself as the opening duo. With six and eight tons, respectively, Gayle and Kohli are the two IPL players with the most centuries.
Gayle ranked AB de Villiers at number four and Suresh Raina at number three. As a backup batsman, KL Rahul has been included. In the playing XI, Gayle also picked three Chennai Super Kings (CSK) mainstays: Dwayne Bravo, MS Dhoni as wicketkeeper, and Ravindra Jadeja as the spin all-rounder.
Hardik Pandya was also snubbed by Gayle, but he picked Sunil Narine as the specialist spinner in his all-time IPL XI. Gayle picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah to spearhead his pace bowling attack.
