Corbin Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 10, but he chose Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025.
Despite being selected in the draft, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been suspended from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for a year by the PCB for not participating in this year’s league.
Bosch was signed by the Mumbai Indians (MI) as an injury replacement for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after being selected as a diamond choice for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL draft.
Bosch withdrew from the PSL, causing the PCB to serve him with a legal notice citing breach of contract because the PSL and the IPL clash this year.
In the event that the two leagues continue to collide in the future, as is to be expected, the PCB was eager to establish a precedent with Bosch’s case to discourage players from joining the IPL after signing up for the PSL.
To increase player availability assurance, the PSL moved into the IPL window. This year’s PSL draft was held after the IPL auction to guarantee that it was only selecting players who the IPL had not yet selected.
Corbin Bosch ‘deeply regrets’ withdrawing from PSL
The PCB confirmed that Bosch has accepted his mistake, but he will not be allowed to take part in the next season of the PSL in 2026.
Corbin Bosch has expressed apologies for disappointing the Pakistan cricket community and Peshawar Zalmi supporters by withdrawing from the PSL 2025. He took full responsibility for the one-year ban and his behavior. He intends to grow from the error and return in the future.
“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the PSL, and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community. I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions.
To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience, and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans,” Bosch stated as per PCB statement.
PSL 10 is all set to kick off on April 11 with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi.
