India vs Pakistan clash in Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to be played on September 14 in Dubai.
India are set to face Pakistan in their second Group A game in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 on September 14 in Dubai. And the Indian Supreme Court has also given its green signal to the encounter, as it rejected an urgent PIL seeking cancellation of the match.
India and Pakistan are placed in Group A with Oman and the UAE in the Asia Cup. India started their Asia Cup 2025 well, defeating the UAE by nine wickets after bowling them out for 57 and then chasing down the total in 4.3 overs.
The India vs Pakistan game in the Asia Cup 2025 was a matter of concern for several Indian cricket fans, as it came on the heels of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and then India’s response to the Pakistan drone attack in Operation Sindoor.
There were calls for India to boycott the Pakistan game in the Asia Cup, like the India Legends had done in the World Champions League (WCL) 2025 tournament. However, the Indian government cleared the way with the new Sports Bill, which allowed India to play Pakistan in multi-team tournaments while restricting bilateral ties.
Supreme Court gives its verdict on urgent PIL on IND v PAK game cancellation

Just a few days before the match, four law students, led by Urvashi Jain, argue through advocates Sneha Rani, Abhishek Verma, and Md. Anas Chaudhary—that it is disrespectful to the nation and the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers and civilians to hold the match after the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
In order to control such choices in the future, the petitioners also requested guidance for the prompt implementation of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025.
The match should proceed as planned, the Supreme Court said, declining to list the PIL immediately. Justices Vijay Bishnoi and JK Maheshwari heard the presentation of the PIL.
“The match is on Sunday. Please list it tomorrow,” the counsel submitted to the bench as per the Times of India.
In response, the Supreme Court bench said, “The match must go on.”
When the lawyer persisted, stating, “I may have a bad case, but please get it listed,” the court firmlyreplied, “No, nothing.”
The India vs Pakistan match is slated to proceed as planned after the Supreme Court declined to list the PIL.
