CPL 2024: Points table, most runs and most wickets after match 16, BR vs GAW

Barbados Royals defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by 32 runs in 16th match of the CPL 2024.

In the 16th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, the Barbados Royals (BR) defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) by 32 runs at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

After being asked to bat first, BR opener Quinton de Kock smashed 115 runs off 68 deliveries, including eight boundaries and nine sixes, which helped his side post 205/6 in 20 overs. For GAW, Raymon Reifer picked a three-wicket haul.

While chasing 206, GAW batters failed to convert their starts. Skipper Shai Hope (40), Shimron Hetymer (28), Moeen Ali (33), and Keemo Paul (30*) couldn’t produce a big knock as they finished at 173/5 and lost the match by 32 runs. Royals all-rounder Jason Holder bagged two wickets, whereas left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj dismissed three batters.

After the end of match No. 16, the Barbados Royals jumped to top of the points table with eight points and NRR of +0.878. After suffering a defeat, the Guyana Amazon Warriors are now placed second with three wins in four matches. Guyana’s NRR is +1.420.

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) are slotted third with six points in their account. TKR have played four matches and won three of them till now. Their NRR is +0.659.

St. Lucia Kings are ranked fourth with six points. Meanwhile, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots are languishing at bottom of the CPL 2024 standings.

CPL 2024: Most Runs

In the list of most runs in the CPL 2024, Barbados Royals’ opener Quinton de Kock holds the top spot with 308 runs in five outings. De Kock has an average of 77.00.

Kyle Mayers is placed second with 204 runs in seven matches so far. Evin Lewis is slotted third with 191 runs in seven matches.

Mikyle Louis occupies fourth place with 187 runs in six matches at an average of 37.40. Johnson Charles is slotted fifth with 181 runs to his name.

With 11 wickets, fast bowler Anrich Nortje is currently the leading wicket-taker in the CPL 2024. Guyana Amazon Warriors’ spinner Gudakesh Motie and TKR’s Waqar Salamkheil are placed second and third respectively. Both bowlers have scalped nine wickets each in four matches.

Senior off-spinner Sunil Narine is placed fourth with eight wickets in four outings. Saint Lucia Kings wrist spinner Noor Ahmad is slotted fifth with eight wickets.
