Mohammed Shami dismissed David Warner in his first ball of the spell.

After spending a lot of time in silence, the Narendra Modi Stadium crowd had a moment to rejoice when Mohammed Shami got Australian opener David Warner in his first over. The entire crowd went mad, and the decibel levels went up in the air. Team India need to defend a low total of 240 runs against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final. Team India will have a tough challenge defending this total on a dry Ahmedabad wicket.

Australia got off to a flier against Jasprit Bumrah and fetched 15 runs from his first over. David Warner and Travis Head played a few beautiful strokes against India’s ace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. Warner smashed a boundary and then ran 3, while Travis Head went on to smash two magnificent boundaries, clearing Indian fielders. Indian captain Rohit Sharma didn’t hold back Shami for the first change and gave him the new ball from the other end.

Mohammed Shami dismissed David Warner

Mohammed Shami’s golden run continued as he dismissed Australian opener David Warner in the first ball of his spell. Warner was looking to attack Shami and put pressure on him in a small chase, but his plans were shattered as Shami took Warner’s edge and Virat Kohli took a simple catch standing at first slip. Shami delivered a delivery that was shaping away from Warner, and he couldn’t middle, resulting in losing his wicket.

David Warner moved away from the leg stump to make a little room, but he lost sight of the ball due to Shami’s pace. This wicket brought Narendra Modi Stadium on its feet as the crowd played as the 12 men for team India in the finals. The entire stadium is currently painted blue, but batters had a dismal day as they put on a disappointing performance against Australia. India managed to post 240 runs on the board in Ahmedabad.
