CSK beat Mumbai Indians in their previous game of IPL 2026.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have witnessed a roller-coaster ride in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They have struggled to win consistently, but despite that they have kept themselves in contention for the playoffs.
One positive thing for the Ruturaj Gaikwad & Co. is that they have defeated arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) in both games. CSK crushed them for the first time at Wankhede Stadium by a huge margin of 103 runs in the 33rd game of IPL 2026.
The Men-in-Yellow then registered an eight-wicket win in their previous game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Chennai chased down 160 runs with ease on the back of half-centuries by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Kartik Sharma.
In the clash, right-arm pacer Ramakrishna Ghosh made his IPL debut. He gave a decent performance by giving 24 runs in his three-over spell. He also grabbed the crucial wicket of Suryakumar Yadav and took a brilliant catch of Will Jacks. However, he got injured as well and couldn’t complete his quota of overs.
Ramakrishna Ghosh ruled out of IPL 2026

Notably, CSK will not be able to utilise the services of Ghosh in the upcoming games as he has been ruled out of IPL 2026. Ghosh picked up an injury during the clash against MI, and it has now been revealed that he has sustained a fracture to his right foot.
While the exact timing of his injury during the clash remains unclear, he made a dive to grab a catch of Will Jacks in the 1st innings. He was also seen having issues with his run-up while bowling later.
The franchise confirmed in an official post on social media he will not play any more games in IPL 2026.
“Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo,” the franchise wrote in an official post on X.
In the post-match presentation, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming shed light on Ghosh’s injury.
“His improvement in recent weeks has been noticeable. He has been training really well at our academy sessions. We use two grounds, and he’s been very impressive. It’s disappointing that he got injured towards the end. The other point is that he can bat, and bat well, which is an area of big improvement. So he can genuinely be called an all-rounder,” Fleming stated.
The 28-year-old pacer was retained by Chennai for IPL 2026 at a price of INR 30 lakh. In the clash against Mumbai, he replaced Gurjapneet Singh in the playing XI.
When did Ramakrishna Ghosh make his IPL debut?
The right-arm pacer made his IPL debut in the clash against Mumbai Indians on May 2.
Why is Ramakrishna ruled out of IPL 2026?
He has been ruled out of the tournament due to a foot injury.
