Rohit Sharma scored 41 runs off 36 balls against Bangladesh.

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has predicted that if Rohit Sharma gets set he would blast a 60-ball century against Pakistan in their upcoming encounter.

The IND vs PAK clash at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place on Sunday in Dubai. While Pakistan lost the tournament opener to New Zealand by 60 runs, India hammered Bangladesh by six wickets.

In the chase of 229 on a dry, spin-friendly pitch, Rohit thumped 41 runs off 36 balls but once again failed to convert this start into a big score.

Yuvraj reckons Rohit could piled up a century against Pakistan and that too at a terrific strike rate.

“If he’s in form, he will score a century in 60 balls. That’s his quality—once he gets going, he’s not just hitting fours; he’s clearing the ropes with sixes. He is also one of the best players of the short ball. Even if someone bowls at 145-150 kmph, Rohit has the ability to hook it effortlessly. His strike rate is always between 120-140, and on his day, he can single-handedly win you the game,” Yuvraj said on JioHotstar’s show ‘Greatest Rivalry Returns.’

Rohit has an impressive record against Pakistan in ODIs: 873 runs in 19 ODIs at an average of 51.35, two centuries, and eight fifties. In India’s last ODI against Pakistan at the World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad, Rohit smashed 86 runs off 63 balls.

I would always back my match-winners: Yuvraj Singh

While Rohit looked in solid touch against Bangladesh, Virat Kohli struggled in his knock of 22 runs off 38 balls, in which he hit only one four.

Yuvraj feels both these players have been among India’s greatest match-winners and back them to step up against Pakistan.

“Rohit Sharma, whether in form or out of form, it doesn’t matter to me. I would always back my match-winners. In ODI cricket, especially in white-ball formats, he has been India’s biggest match-winner as a batsman, alongside Virat Kohli,” the former all-rounder added.
