David Warner reached 6000 runs in the IPL

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner has made an entry in the Indian Premier League record books. Delhi Capitals Captain David Warner has become the quickest batter to reach 6000 runs in the IPL. David Warner was 27 runs short of the 6K mark in the league. Warner overtook Virat Kohli by a handsome margin. Virat Kohli was the first player to score 6000 runs in the league. Kohli reached the milestone in 188 innings, while David Warner completed his figures in 165 innings, 23 quicker than Former RCB Captain Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli is currently the top scorer in the league's history with 6727 runs in 217 innings.

David Warner only the third player to score 6000 runs in the IPL

Part of this league since the second season in 2009, Warner has smashed 4 centuries and 55 half-centuries in his 165 matches long IPL career. David Warner has batted with a strike rate of almost 140. Other than Virat Kohli and David Warner, Punjab Kings's current captain Shikhar Dhawan is also part of this list. Only these three batters have scored 6000 or more runs in the IPL. Shikhar Dhawan took 199 innings to complete his 6K runs. Shikhar Dhawan is in second position in the list of most IPL runs with 6370 runs in 207 innings.

David Warner is leading Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023. DC’s regular captain Rishabh Pant is out of the cricketing action for a very long time due to a massive accident he faced in December last year. Delhi Capitals under Warner’s leadership are yet to open their account in the points table. They are struggling against Rajasthan Royals as well. Chasing 200 against RR, their batting once again panicked. Warner has batted like a lone warrior against RR.

Batting first in the game, Rajasthan Royals went on to score 199 runs in their 20 overs. Warner’s army struggled from the first over. They lost two back to back wickets in their opening over. Warner scored a half-century but lacked support from the other end. Warner in his 344 match long T20 career has scored 11272 runs at a strike rate of 140.81 with 8 centuries and 95 half centuries.
