If the on-field troubles aren't enough for the Delhi Capitals, they also have off-field issues to deal with moving forward. The Capitals' bats and a few other equipment are reportedly missing from their kits after they returned to Delhi from Bengaluru, where they locked horns with RCB on April 15th.

According to a report by the Indian Express, 16 bats, apart from equipment like shoes, pads, thigh pads and gloves, went missing. Three of the lost bats belonged to Capitals skipper David Warner two to Mitchell Marsh, three to Phil Salt, and five to Yash Dhull. The players found out about their missing gear after returning to Delhi on Sunday when their kits came to the team hotel. The franchise hired a logistics company to assist in transporting their players' kits from one venue to the other during the IPL.

A Delhi Capitals' official admitted that the situation is alarming and that the investigation is on regarding the matter. He said, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

"All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on."

Delhi Capitals searching for their first win in IPL 2023

Meanwhile, the Capitals are currently at the bottom of the points table, having lost their all five games. Their top-order batters have struggled, including David Warner. While Warner is amongst the highest run-getters in IPL 2023, his strike rate has been incredibly poor with 116.92. The left-handed batter is yet to hit a six in the ongoing season.

The Capitals will next face the Kolkata Knight Riders, who have also lost two successive games after winning as much consecutively.
