IPL 2026: "Thank you to all loyal fans.." Devon Conway confirms being released by CSK

Devon Conway was first acquired by CSK at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

New Zealand batter Devon Conway has confirmed he has been released by the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini auction. The left-handed batsman shared a post on social media, in which he revealed parting ways with the Men in Yellow and thanked fans for their support over the last few years.

November 15 (Saturday) is the deadline for all IPL teams to announce their list of retained and released players ahead of IPL 2026 auction. Hence, all the 10 IPL teams are busy finalising their retained players for the last few days.

CSK produced a horrible performance last season, where they finished at the last spot in the points table, winning just four games out of 14 encounters. As a result, the five-time champions were expected to release a few big names from their squad ahead of the next season and Conway is one of them.

Devon Conway confirms parting ways with CSK

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday (November 15), Conway shared a few photos of himself in the CSK jersey, including one with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Along with the photos, he wrote,: “Thank you to all loyal fans of CSK for amazing 3 years support.”

Meanwhile, Conway joined CSK in IPL 2022, where he impressed with his batting show by smacking three half-centuries across seven games. In the 2023 season, when CSK won the trophy, he grabbed a lot of limelight by finishing as the leading run-scorer of the side with 672 runs in 16 games. He also slammed a match-winning knock of 47 runs in the final against Gujarat Titans (GT), winning Player of the Match award.

After missing IPL 2024, he was re-signed by CSK for Rs. 6.25 crores at IPL 2025 mega auction through RTM. However, Conway struggled with his form, hitting 156 runs across six games. During his three-year stint with CSK, Conway scored 1080 runs in 29 games at an average of 43.20 and a strike-rate of 139.72, including 11 half-centuries.
