Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have witnessed a horrible start in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The Ruturaj Gaikwad & Co. have lost their three opening games.
They lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first game by eight wickets, witnessing a humiliating batting collapse in the first innings. They came up with a brilliant batting show in the second game against Punjab Kings, but still lost.
In their previous game, they lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 43 runs. CSK languish at the last spot in the points table and still aim for their first victory of IPL 2026.
The five-time champions have missed the services of their two star batters Dewald Brevis and MS Dhoni. While Dhoni sustained a calf injury ahead of the tournament, Brevis suffered a side strain. However, CSK have got a big boost as both of them will return soon to the field.
Dewald Brevis to play for CSK against DC, MS Dhoni to return against KKR
Brevis has recovered from his side strain and is set to play in the next clash against Delhi Capitals (DC). The encounter will take place on April 11.
On the other hand, Dhoni will feature in the forthcoming clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home on April 14, according to a report by Revsportz. Both games will take place at Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
With the addition of Brevis and Dhoni, CSK will get a little bit more support to their batting unit. Their batters have struggled in the tournament so far and a few changes are expected in the upcoming games. Moreover, CSK bowlers have also failed to restrict opposition teams from going big.
