Wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel recently made his international debut against England in Rajkot.

Wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel made it to headlines with his batting and glovework for India in test cricket. Dhruv Jurel made his test debut against England during the third test at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot and then played a magnificent role in India’s victory in the fourth test match in Ranchi. His 90-run knock was vital for the hosts in that game.

Dhruv Jurel rose to fame during IPL 2023 with a magnificent knock for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Jurel scored 34 runs off 15 deliveries in the game to help RR post 202 against CSK. With his hard-hitting ability in the IPL and temperament seen in tests, fans and critics were speculating him to be a part of India squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, but the wicket-keeper batter has already counted himself out of the race.

‘I don’t see myself anywhere’

Young Indian wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel still thinks he need to crack the T20 format. In a chat with News24, Jurel was asked whether he considers himself as part of the Indian side for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Jurel responded, “I don’t see myself anywhere.”

Dhruv Jurel also expressed that he doesn’t think about his place in the T20 team and considers himself out. Jurel said, “It has always been a dream of mine (to play in the World Cup for India). But, I won’t think about it. If I get that opportunity, good. If I don’t get it, fine. It’s about scoring runs for me, play good cricket, help my team win. That’s all I think, no matter what match is it.”

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in West Indies and USA. India will start their campaign against Ireland at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on 5th June. The tournament will begin on 2nd of June with a clash between USA and Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Texas. India are placed in the Group A of the tournament alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, co-hosts USA, Canada and Ireland.
