Dhruv Jurel reveals how 20 lakhs IPL contract from RR helped him clear off parents debts

Wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel played a terrific hand for India in the recently concluded five-match test series against England. Jurel was India’s match winner in the fourth test played at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, where scored 90 run in the first innings. Jurel made his test debut during the third test of the series at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, replacing KS Bharat in the playing XI.
Dhruv Jurel rose to the fame with his magnificent performance for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He played a blistering knock of 34 runs in 15 balls against Chennai Super Kings. IPL has been a life-changing event for Dhruv Jurel as explained by him during a chat show in News 24.
Jurel paid off debt of his family
Indian wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel revealed that his first IPL contract of INR 20 lakhs helped his pay off the debt on his family. Jurel credits his family a lot for his success. Jurel’s parents have been extremely helpful throughout his career so far. Jurel also revealed that he bought jewellery for his mother.
Dhruv Jurel said, “There was a huge debt on my parents when I got my maiden IPL contract. I paid off all the debt from my first salary, and also bought jewellery for my mother.” Dhruv’s mother had to sell her golden chain to buy Dhruv his first cricket kit. Jurel gave a tribute to his war veteran father after scoring his maiden test half-century.
Dhruv Jurel is part of RR in the IPL. He was bought by the Royals for INR 20 lakhs at the IPL 2022 mega auction. Jurel has so far played 13 games in the IPL and has scored 152 runs at a strike rate of 172.73. He aggregated a total of 11 fours ans nine sixes previous season.
