Dhruv Jurel came in as a substitute for injured Rishabh Pant in the last two tests against England.
Indian wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel came up with a hilarious reaction to him only keeping in the last two tests against the England Cricket Team. While reacting to memes, recalled a scene from MS Dhoni’s biopic “MS Dhoni – The Untold Story,” where the teacher forces young Dhoni to only keep and not bat.
Dhruv Jurel has played a crucial role for India in the ongoing series against England, but it hasn’t come the way he would’ve wanted. The right-hander stepped in as substitute keeper for Rishabh Pant in the third test at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London when the left-hander injured his hand.
Dhruv Jurel kept for the entire game after Pant’s injury, and a similar fate unfolded for him in the following game at Old Trafford in Manchester. Pant again hurt himself, but this time on the foot while batting, and was taken off the field.
As a result of that, Dhruv Jurel again had to don the keeping duties for the entire game. However, after two such games, he will finally get to bat as he has been picked in the Indian XI for the last game, underway at the Oval in London.

With Jurel not getting to bat and only keeping, social media was flooded with memes. The wicket-keeper reacted to it and said one related to MS Dhoni’s movie was his favourite one. Speaking to BCCI in a video, he said:
“You know that scene from the MS Dhoni movie, where he says, ‘I want to bat and the teacher replies, No, do wicketkeeping’ and the kid replies, ‘No, I like batting’ and the response is ‘No, you’ll have to do keeping.’ That part was really funny,” said Jurel.
Jurel also talked about the importance of playing in overseas conditions, adding that he wants to win the last game for his team. He added:
“To overcome challenges when you go overseas is always a special thing. If you perform overseas, people will rate you high so I am very excited, just want to go out and express myself. I am very excited to play because this match is very crucial for all of us. I am very excited to do that one thing which helps the team win.”
