Dinesh Karthik slams Tamil Nadu coach for criticizing skipper Sai Kishore

Tamil Nadu faced a heavy defeat by an innings & 70 runs against Mumbai in Ranji Trophy semis.
Tamil Nadu suffered a major setback in the Ranji Trophy 2024 semi-final against Mumbai. Mumbai defeated Tamil Nadu by a huge margin of an innings and 70 runs at BKC Complex Stadium in Bandra (Mumbai). Mumbai’s lower order batting helped them qualify for the final for a record 48th time in history. Mumbai are now one step closer to their 42nd Ranji Trophy title.
The big loss in the semi-final has opened up some cracks in the Tamil Nadu camp. Tamil Nadu coach Sulakshan Kulkarni criticized captain R. Sai Kishore’s decision to bat first in the semi-final. Now, Tamil Nadu legend and former Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik slammed coach Sulakshan Kulkarni’s remark on Sai Kishore. Karthik called Kulkarni’s statement ‘wrong’ for team spirit.
Dinesh Karthik slams TN Coach
Tamil Nadu legend and former skipper Dinesh Karthik posted on social media platform X and said, “This is so wrong, This is so disappointing from the coach ..instead of backing the captain who has brought the team to the semis after 7 yrs and thinking it’s a start for good things to happen, the coach has absolutely thrown his captain and team under the bus.”
Slakshan Kulkarni said after the semi-final loss that Tamil Nadu lost the game at the toss itself. He added, “I always speak straightforward, we lost the match at 9 o’clock on day one. The moment I saw the wicket I exactly knew what we were going to get. Everything was set, we won the toss, as a coach, as a Mumbaikar, I know the conditions well. We should have bowled, but the captain had some different instinct.”
The TN coach further added that unfortunately Sai Kishore was the boss and I can only give my suggestions and inputs on the kind of wickets and Mumbai’s mindset. Sai Kishore was also not so confident about his decision as he was completely unaware about the conditions and wicket at BKC Sports Complex in Bandra.
