India won the second test against England by a massive margin of 336 runs.

After a disappointing defeat in the first game of the series, the Indian Cricket Team are back on track in the ongoing five-match test series against the England Cricket Team. The Shubman Gill-led side completed a brilliant win in the second game at Edgbaston in Birmingham to level the series 1-1.

Entering the second test against England, India were under massive pressure. This was because they lost the first game of the series and had also never won a test match at Edgbaston. Against all the odds, the Shubman Gill-led side stood up and registered their biggest win in overseas tests.

India defeated England by 336 runs and made a statement to England. One of the pioneers behind the victory was Shubman Gill. The skipper slammed two centuries in the game, out of which one was a double century. He helped his team post big totals in both innings and win.

While it was a near-perfect game for India, there were a few areas of concern as well. Apart from Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj, the bowlers struggled and failed to stop runs. They would be keen to correct this going into the third test, which will be played from 10th July at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

India would be eager to take an early lead in the series. However, for that, they need to correct all things in which they lacked in the last two games. On that note, let’s take a look at two changes they should make for the third test against England.

1. Jasprit Bumrah IN, Prasidh Krishna OUT

One of the sure-shot changes that India will make for the third test against England is bringing back Jasprit Bumrah. The premier pacer was rested for the second game due to his workload management. However, he is set to return to the XI, as confirmed by skipper Shubman Gill.

With Akash Deep delivering a match-winning performance in the second game at Edgbaston, he locked his place in the XI for the Lord’s game. Hence, Jasprit Bumrah will be replacing Prasidh Krishna, who hasn’t been able to perform in the last two games.

2. Sai Sudharsan IN, Karun Nair OUT

Another change that India should make for the third test at the Lord’s is to bring Sai Sudharsan in place of Karun Nair. The left-hander played the first game of the series and scored 30 runs in the second innings after bagging a duck in the first essay. More than the runs, he looked in great touch and showed great promise with the bat.

On the other hand, Karun Nair, who made a return to the test team after eight long years, has failed to live up to the expectations. He batted at six in the first game and couldn’t do any good. He had starts in both innings at Edgbaston, where he batted at three, but failed to capitalise on that.
