It was a series of many ups and downs, from injuries to aggression to verbal spats to phenomenal performances; there was nothing that was left for a cricket fan. Every cricket lover got their money’s worth.
There are countless moments in this series that will be remembered for a long time. This article will highlight some of the memorable moments that happened during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
List of Top memorable moments of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025
1. England’s chase in 1st test at Headingley, Leeds

How often do you see a team chasing a target over 370 runs in test cricket with ease? The first test in Leeds saw England record the tenth-highest successful run-chase in test cricket history. After the first two strong innings, England had a target of 371 runs.
That’s when Ben Duckett (149) and Zak Crawley (65) added 188 runs for the opening partnership. That partnership put England up front. Joe Root (53*) and Jamie Smith (44*) ended it for the hosts, and they made 373/5 to record a brilliant chase.
2. Shubman Gill’s 430 runs in 2nd test at Edgbaston, Birmingham

A big set of fans criticized Shubman Gill’s appointment as the new test captain. But, he answered everyone with his bat and won Player of the Series award in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
He was at his best throughout the series and especially in the second test, which helped India level the series 1-1. Gill scored 269 and 161 in two innings and finished with 430 runs in the game, which is the second-most runs by a batter in a single test ever.
3. Ravindra Jadeja’s fightback in the Lord’s test

After two great games, the Lord’s test added more spice to the series. It saw more aggression from both sides and ended with a dramatic finish in the final session on day five. India had a target of 193 to chase. They were 82/7 when Ravindra Jadeja led India’s fight back.
He added small partnerships with Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. But destiny had something else for India. Siraj had a heartbreaking dismissal, and Jadeja was left unbeaten at 61 as India lost the game by 22 runs.
4. Rishabh Pant batting with broken toe in 4th test in Manchester

Rishabh Pant had a great series, and he scored 479 runs in four games. But in first innings of the Manchester test, he was hit on the toe, and the scans confirmed he got fractured. But despite that, Pant came out to bat on day two and completed his fifty.
He was in pain and was hobbling on the crease, but scored 54 off 75 before a ball from Jofra Archer cleaned him up. That was one of the rarest occasions when a batter came out to bat after such injury.
5. Centuries from Ravindra Jadeja & Washington Sundar in Manchester

Not only the win at The Oval, but also the draw in Manchester was equally great. India were trailing by 311 runs and were 0/2 in the very first over of the second innings, and Rishabh Pant’s availability was doubtful due to a fractured toe. Shubman Gill (103) and KL Rahul (90) played well. India were 222/4 in 87.4 overs with more than 70 overs still to go.
That is when Ravindra Jadeja (107*) and Washington Sundar (101*) scored a century each to add an unbeaten 203 runs in 55.2 overs to draw the game. Though there was a controversy at the end over a handshake saga, it didn’t stop the batters from reaching their respective centuries.
6. Washington Sundar’s 39-ball fifty

Washington Sundar had a pretty successful impact in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He had great games at the Lords and followed it up with another brilliant performance in Manchester.
Sundar was outstanding with the bat in The Oval test as well when he hit a 39-ball fifty and added 39 runs for the last wicket with Prasidh Krishna (0*) in the second innings. That partnership proved to be vital as India later won the game by just six runs.
7. Chris Woakes coming out to bat with dislocated shoulder

After Pant at Old Trafford, it was Chris Woakes at The Oval, who came out to bat despite an injury. Woakes sustained a shoulder injury on day one of the fifth test while stopping a ball on the boundary line.
That kept him out of the game until the final few moments on day five. Though Woakes didn’t face a single ball, his courage to come out to bat despite injury was applauded by everyone.
8. Mohammed Siraj’s sensational bowling spell on day five of The Oval test

If it was the dropped catch of Harry Brook by Mohammed Siraj at the boundary line on day four in Manchester that put India on backfoot, then it was the redemption of Siraj on day five to win it for India.
England were clear favourites, needing 35 runs to win with four wickets in hand. But, Siraj pulled things back for the visitors. He took three out of the last four wickets and finished with 5/104 and nine wickets in the game to help India win the match. He was also adjudged Player of the Match.
