Reece Topley injured his left hand's index finger against South Africa in Mumbai.

The defending champions, England have been struggling to get their campaign on track. They suffered two massive defeats in their previous two league games and have also suffered a major injury going forward in the tournament. England, after suffering a massive loss by 229 runs against South Africa at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, have also lost one of their in-form pace bowlers, Reece Topley. England pacer Reece Topley has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Reece Topley out for the entire World Cup 2023

Reece Topley will be missing the remainder of the World Cup tournament after sustaining an injury to his left index finger. Reece Topley had to walk back to the dressing room due to an injured index finger. Later, Topley returned on the field and took two wickets as well. But at the end of England's innings, Topley didn't come out to bat. Topley will now be working closely with the medical teams of England and Surrey in respect of his rehabilitation. Reece Topley will be returning to the UK in the next 24 hours. Topley was in severe pain after being hit on his finger.

England’s medical team took Reece Topley for scans on Saturday during the game, and the reports revealed the full extent of his injury. England and Wales Cricket Board have not announced any replacement yet, and they will sit back to discuss a possible replacement. The ball hit the edge of his index finger, and he walked back without completing his third over.

Jofra Archer also ruled out of the tournament

England were bundled out on just 170 runs against South Africa. Batting first, South Africa posted 399 runs on the board. England will be playing against Sri Lanka at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on October 26.
