England have made only one change to their playing XI for the Adelaide test, which will begin from 17 December.
England Cricket Team have announced their playing XI for the third test of The Ashes 2025-26 against Australian Cricket Team. The visitors have made only one change to their side from the previous game at The Gabba, replacing pacer Gus Atkinson with Josh Tongue.
Atkinson struggled to make a mark in the previous game in Brisbane, picking three wickets across both innings. In the first test in Perth, he failed to get any wickets across both innings.
28-year-old Tongue has played six test matches in his career so far, picking 31 scalps at an average of 30.0. He was part of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 earlier this year, where he featured in three matches against India.
The third test of The Ashes 2025-26 is scheduled to begin on December 17 at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. It is a must-win game for England as they trail 2-0 in the five-match series. The Ben Stokes & Co. have thoroughly struggled in the first two games, losing both clashes by eight wickets.
Led by Steve Smith, Australia chased down a 205-run target in the first test with a century by Travis Head (123). In the second game, the hosts had a low target of just 65 runs, which they won like a walk in the park.
