England vs West Indies 2nd ODI will be played at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

England have announced their playing XI for the 2nd ODI against the West Indies. England and the West Indies are locking horns in a three-match ODI series. England lead the series 1-0 after winning the opening match.

Harry Brook leads the home side England in the series, while Shai Hope is the skipper of the West Indies. The second ODI will take place on June 1 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Ahead of the second ODI, England announced their playing XI and made one change to it.

The hosts have replaced injured pacer Jamie Overton with Matthew Potts. Overton has been ruled out of the ODI series due to an injury in his right little finger. Right-arm pacer Potts has played nine ODI games so far for England.

England playing XI for second ODI against West Indies

England skipper Harry Brook will aim for a series victory when his side clashes with the West Indies for the second ODI of the three-match series. On the other hand, the visitors will eye a comeback. Below is England’s playing XI for the encounter.

England’s playing XI for 2nd ODI vs West Indies: Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith, Joe Root, Harry Brook (C), Jos Buttler (WK), Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks, Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood.

Harry Brook & Co. clinched a huge victory against the Caribbean side in the opening game. After being asked to bat first, England piled up a gigantic total of 400/8 in the first innings. Ben Duckett (60), Joe Root (57), Harry Brook (58), and Jacob Bethell (82) showed a wonderful teamwork in batting to power the scoreboard to the mountainous total.

Jayden Seales picked a four-wicket haul for the visitors. However, he could not halt the mayhem caused by the England batters. Later, the visitors succumbed to the pressure and were bowled out for just 162 runs. England bundled them out in just 26.2 overs with three-wicket hauls by Overton and Saqib Mahmood. Spinner Adil Rashid captured two wickets.
