England will play New Zealand and Ireland before flying to India for World Cup 2023.

England will be entering to defend their World Cup crown in 2023 in India. They are scheduled to play the tournament opener against New Zealand at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5. England are playing most of their games before the World Cup in 2023 in their backyard. They will be playing four ODIs against New Zealand in the early days of September, and then they will take on Ireland, who are not part of the 10 qualified teams in the World Cup. They will be playing their final bilateral game against Ireland on September 26th at Bristol before entering the World Cup warm-up round. England will have only a three-day gap between their first warm-up game and their final game in England.

England World Cup Warm-up games:

England will play against India in their first warm-up game on September 30 at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. To avoid too much travel, England will be playing their final warm-up game against Bangladesh at the same stadium in Guwahati. England will have the advantage of playing India and Bangladesh, the two most formidable sides in the subcontinent, in preparation. England will be playing seven ODIs before the World Cup, along with two warm-up games. England’s ODI series against New Zealand will begin on September 8 at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

England defeated New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup final to win their first-ever title. England are the most improved white-ball team in the world right now. Along with the 50-over World Cup title, they also have the T20 World Cup in their cabinet. They are also boosted by the comeback of their star all-rounder Ben Stokes in the 50-over format. Ben Stokes will be coming out of retirement to help England defend their World Cup title. He was crucial to England’s ICC title win in the last edition. In 2011, England lost to Sri Lanka in the World Cup quater-final.
