The auction ahead of the T20 Mumbai League 2025 was held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 7. It saw the next generation of superstars trying their luck to play and get recognized. A total of 280 players were registered for the auction.
A total of eight teams bid for these players, and there were some notable names among them. The third season of the league is originally scheduled to be played between May 26 and June 8. Some of the new faces will be featured in the coming tournament.

5. Shams Mulani – 14 lakhs
Star all-rounder Shams Mulani is a regular face at the domestic level for Mumbai. He has been the match-winner for his state team with bat and ball. His all-round ability was one key reason for him going for big money.
He was signed by Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs for a price of INR 14 lakhs. He has played 51 T20s and taken 57 wickets and scored 255 runs.
4. Ayush Mhatre – 14.75 lakhs
The young sensation of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has caught the eyes of many. He joined the team midway as replacement and made an impact straight away. That is one of the reasons that a few teams were looking after him at the T20 Mumbai League auction 2025.
Eventually, he was signed by Triumph Knights Mumbai North East for INR 14.75 lakhs and will play with Suryakumar Yadav.
3. Sairaj Patil – 15 lakhs
Another exciting name at the auction was 28-year-old Sairaj Patil, who hails from Thane. He has been on the domestic circuit for the past 2-3 years but hasn’t played many games for Mumbai.
But his exploits in the local T20 competitions have earned him a big contract. He was signed by Eagle Thane Strikers for INR 15 lakhs, and he will have a great platform to showcase his real potential.
2. Musheer Khan – 15 lakhs
We all know about Sarfaraz Khan, but his younger brother is not less than him in ability. In fact, he is a very smart all-rounder who is a top-order batter and bowls more than useful off-spin. Musheer was signed by Punjab Kings for the IPL 2025.
He has played First Class (FC) cricket for Mumbai and already has a double century. He was signed by ARCS Andheri at the T20 Mumbai League auction 2025 for a price of INR 15 lakhs.
1. Atharva Ankolekar – 16.25 lakhs
The player who caught the limelight at the T20 Mumbai League auction 2025 was Atharva Ankolekar. The 24-year-old is from the breed of left-arm spin all-rounders. He bats left-handed and bowls slow left orthodox. He impressed everyone with a brilliant show in the 2019 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup.
Atharva finished the tournament with the most wickets and also took 5/28 in the final against Bangladesh. He was signed by Eagle Thane Strikers for a price of INR 16.25 lakhs.
