RCB captain Faf du Plessis rated Virat Kohli as his best batting partner.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis will have huge expectations from fans of making everything count in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after RCB women won the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. RCB defeated Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2024 final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Sunday.

This is the first ever title win for RCB franchise and they will be expecting their men’s squad to replicate the similar performance in the upcoming IPL. They will also bolstered by Virat Kohli‘s availability in the tournament. Kohli recently skipped the five-match test series against England to be with his family for birth of his second child. Meanwhile, RCB skipper Plessis lavished huge praise on star Indian batter Kohli ahead of RCB’s opening fixture.

Faf Du PLessis lavishes praise on Virat Kohli

RCB captain Faf Du Plessis expressed that Virat Kohli is one of his most preferred batting partner. Du Plessis said Star Sports, “Batting is probably the other thing that we click on equally. You know, it is unbelievable batting with him. He’s one of my favourite guys to bat with. He brings out so much energy in me, like sometimes, I feel like I’m fist-bumping my glove through his hand because he gets so passionate.”

RCB captain Du Plessis also added that he is hopeful of witnessing the same level of energy from Kohli. Du Plessis added, “Let’s hope for that amount of energy, because it was like this guy is just always on. How did you manage it? So it’s really infectious, the same thing on the field, because, like catching balls, we are both very competitive, and I make sure we get those good catches for the team.”

Despite Virat Kohli’s stellar performances, RCB have failed to win a title in the tournament. RCB will play the IPL 2024 curtain raiser against defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram in Chennai on 22nd March. RCB will be looking to get their maiden IPL title home. Faf Du Plessis will be leading RCB for third consecutive season.
