Sai Sudharsan scored 0 and 30 across two innings in the first test against England at Headingley.
Indian Cricket Team batter Sai Sudharsan didn’t get the backing of the team management in the ongoing second test against the England Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.
Sai Sudharsan, who made his debut for India in tests in the last match at Headingly in Leeds, was expected to retain his place in the team for the ongoing clash. But that wasn’t the case as he was dropped from the team, which raised many eyebrows.
Sai Sudharsan was replaced by Washington Sundar in the Indian XI as team management was keen to bring in the second spinner in the team alongside Ravindra Jadeja. With his omission, Karun Nair was promoted to three and Sundar at seven makes batting depth stronger for India.
Sai Sudharsan batted at three for India in Leeds. He didn’t have a great start to his career as he bagged a duck in the first innings. But looked good in the second innings as he played a knock of 30 runs off 48 balls, failing to capitalise on the start that he had.
Apart from the snub of Sai Sudharsan in the XI, India made two changes. Jasprit Bumrah has also been rested for workload management and has been replaced by Akash Deep. Also, Nitish Kumar Reddy came in place of Shardul Thakur in the team.
