India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs to qualify for the final of Asia Cup 2025.
The Indian Cricket Team became the first team to qualify for the final of Asia Cup 2025. They thrashed the Bangladesh Cricket Team by 41 runs in their second match of the Super Four stage at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday.
India, who were asked to bat first, had a solid start with the bat, courtesy of Abhishek Sharma (79) and Shubman Gill (29). The duo have been doing a consistent job at the top as they added 77 runs for the opening stand to lay the platform for the power-hitters.
However, the platform was wasted by the middle-order batters. The Indian wickets fell like a pack of cards as they were left reeling at 129 for five. Thanks to Hardik Pandya (38), that India had a strong finish as they ended with a total of 168 runs.
With the ball then, India had a great start as Jasprit Bumrah returned to his best and removed Tanzid Hasan Tamim early. Bangladesh seemed favourites to win but, despite the efforts of Saif Hassan (69) and Parvez Hossain Emon (21), who added 41 runs together for the second wicket, Bangladesh succumbed to pressure.
The spinners Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy and in particular Kuldeep Yadav were all over the Bangladesh batters. Saif hit a solid fifty but Bumrah got better off him in the end. Bangladesh got all out for 127 as India won the game with a big margin.
