Fans overjoyed as Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul make a comeback in India squad for Asia Cup 2023

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have been included in India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2023.
Indian fans have gotten the big news they were expecting before the selection of India’s Asia Cup squad. India’s long list of injured players finally ended after KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were named in the Indian squad. Rahul and Iyer will both be making their much-awaited comebacks in international cricket. Indian fans are thrilled over the news of Iyer and Rahul’s comeback, as this will end all the talk around the Indian batting middle order. Iyer’s absence would have created a big gap in India’s number 4 position.
Fans cherish Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul’s comeback
Chief of the Indian national selection panel Ajit Agarkar in the press conference informed the media that Shreyas Iyer is fully fit to take on the next challenges but KL Rahul is currently having a niggle but is expected to be fit for the Asia Cup squad. Indian fans are overjoyed in Social media as Iyer and Rahul’s selection have removed most of the concerning areas for the upcoming big events. Shreyas Iyer was away from the action from March this year. Iyer was out due to a back injury and he underwent surgery.
KL Rahul pulled up his thigh during a game in the IPL 2023. Rahul landed awkwardly while chasing a boundary against RCB. Since then, he has been in rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Recently, they both took part in a practice match at NCA to test their fitness, and they both batted for 50 overs. Rahul later on kept the wicket for a full 50 overs, and Shreyas Iyer also spent a full 50 overs in the field, suggesting the improvement they had.
Along with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami is also back after a long break from international cricket. Shami will be making his comeback after the WTC 2023 final at The Oval. The Indian selection panel also gave Tilak Varma his well-deserved 50-over call-up after his splendid work in the T20I format in the recently concluded West Indies tour. Sanju Samson has been kept as a backup in case of an injury, while Ishan Kishan is picked as a second wicketkeeper option along with KL Rahul.
