"Both have not played proper ODIs..": Fans slam BCCI as India rest Rohit & Virat in 2nd ODI vs West Indies

Senior Indian stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the second ODI against West Indies.
With India resting two superstar players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the second ODI against West Indies, vice-captain Hardik Pandya has been handed the duty to lead the side. As Hardik Pandya said at the toss There are a few questions that need to be answered, team management decided to rest Rohit and Virat and give youngsters more game time. Indian fans have not liked the management’s decision and slammed the BCCI for poor planning in the tour.
With the World Cup approaching so near and scheduled to start in just two months, Fans are asking for Rohit and Virat to have more game time in the 50-over Cricket as the frequency of the ODIs have gone down. India have played only 55 ODIs since the 2019 World Cup including the first ODI against West Indies. With extensive numbers of Test Cricket and T20 games around the World, on average these two senior players have played only 8-9 ODIs per year.
Fans were shocked to see no proper planning in team selection and took social media to ask if they were to be rested for the West Indies ODI, why they were not rested from the squad and a few other youngsters would have got the opportunity to play in the team. The fans have also criticised coach Rahul Dravid’s approach before the big tournament. India will be playing in the Asia Cup starting next month in Sri Lanka and then the World Cup in their backyard.

West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss against India in the second ODI and decided to bowl first. Team India replaced two senior players and included Sanju Samson and Axar Patel in the playing XI. Sanju didn’t get the opportunity in the first ODI and fans had an outburst against Indian team management for continuously ignoring him. West Indies have also made two changes in their team as Dominic Drakes and Rovman Powell are out, while Keacy Carty and Alzarri Joseph have come in.
