Four Indian batters have scored hundreds in List A cricket in less than 40 deliveries.
List A cricket includes limited-overs matches played worldwide, which typically last between 40 to 60 overs. One-Day Internationals and some well-known one-day domestic leagues of major cricket-playing nations have been given List A status by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Vijay Hazare Trophy, India‘s domestic one-day cricket tournament, also falls under the category of List A cricket. The first edition of this tournament was played in 1993-94 and has observed exciting 50-over matches between different state cricket teams over the years.
Many batters have impressed with their performances in the Vijay Hazare. Some of them also hammered quickfire centuries in the tournament, scripting record books in List A Cricket. If we look at overall stats, Australia’s Jake Fraser McGurk (29 balls) holds the record for fastest ton in List A.
Moreover, four Indian batters have reached the three-figure mark in less than 40 deliveries, all of which came in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. On that note, below are the top five Indian batters with the fastest hundreds in List A Cricket.
5. Yusuf Pathan- 40 balls (Baroda v Maharashtra, 2010)
Yusuf Pathan grabs the fifth spot on this list. The former Indian all-rounder hammered a century off just 40 deliveries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2009-10 edition while playing for Baroda. Batting first, Maharashtra were bowled out for 230 runs in the encounter, with none of their batters hitting a half-century.
Pathan showcased his mayhem with the bat, smacking an unbeaten 108 runs off 42 deliveries, reaching his ton off just 40 balls. At that time, it was the fastest ton by an Indian batter in List A Cricket. With his amazing knock, Pathan led Baroda to victory by seven wickets.
4. Vaibhav Suryavanshi- 36 balls (Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh, 2025)

India’s young sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, scripted record books with his batting show in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
Playing for Bihar, the left-handed batter hammered 190 runs off 84 deliveries in a clash against Arunachal Pradesh. Reaching the three-figure mark off just 36 deliveries, he registered the fourth-fastest century by an Indian batter in List A Cricket.
3. Anmolpreet Singh- 35 balls (Punjab vs Arunachal Pradesh, 2024)
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 edition, Punjab batter Anmolpreet Singh scored a century off just 35 balls in a clash against Arunachal Pradesh. The match took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Arunachal Pradesh were bowled out for just 164 runs in the first innings.
The right-handed batter rocked the field with his quickfire century, smacking an unbeaten 115 runs off 45 deliveries, hitting 12 fours and nine sixes. Punjab won the clash by nine wickets, chasing down the target in just 12.5 overs.
2. Ishan Kishan- 33 balls (Jharkhand v Karnataka, 2025)

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Jharkhand captain Ishan Kishan scripted history by smacking the second-fastest century ever by an Indian in List A Cricket.
After Jharkhand were asked to bat first by Karnataka, the left-handed batsman hammered 125 runs off just 39 deliveries, reaching his ton off just 33 balls.
At a strike rate of 320.51, the wicket-keeper batter slammed seven boundaries and 14 sixes, driving the scoreboard to 412/9.
1. Sakibul Gani- 32 balls (Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh, 2025)
Bihar captain Sakibul Gani steals the top spot on this list, with his 32-ball century against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
While Suryavanshi became the youngest batter to score a List A ton in the clash, Sakbul Gani broke the record for fastest hundred.
The right-handed batsman hit an unbeaten 128 runs off just 40 deliveries, smashing 10 boundaries and 12 sixes. With his ton, he also helped Bihar to post the highest-ever team total in List A Cricket (574/6).
