Gautam Gambhir recently said that India shouldn’t play against Pakistan.
Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has lashed out at the Indian Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir for his hypocritical nature. He recalled coach Gambhir’s statement of not playing against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025, saying that he should resign now.
Indian Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir has been in the news for the last few days. The former Indian cricketer has been criticised a lot, especially after the squad for Asia Cup 2025 was announced.
Gautam Gambhir was criticised a lot for dropping a few players, particularly Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The duo weren’t picked in the side, and instead, Shubman Gill got the nod ahead, even after he was out of the T20I setup since 2024.
Gautam Gambhir had even said after that Pahalgam attack that India shouldn’t play against Pakistan. However, now he will be coaching the Indian side in Asia Cup 2025, where India will be playing against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
Gautam Gambhir is hypocrite – Manoj Tiwary

Recalling these statements, Manoj Tiwary lashed out at Gautam Gambhir, saying that he is a big hypocrite. He said that the coach should resign, saying that he will not be part of the game against Pakistan.
“I always felt that he’s someone who is a hypocrite,” Manoj Tiwary told CrickTracker. “He’s a hypocrite because he’s the one who said that India, when he was not the coach of Team India, should never play against Pakistan. What will he do now? He’s the coach of the team that’s going to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Why can’t he just resign and say that I will not be part of Team India because you are playing with Pakistan?”
Manoj Tiwary also lashed out at Gautam Gambhir for not picking Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2025, recalling when the head coach said that Jaiswal should be part of the team in all the formats. He said:
“He (Gambhir) was the one who said that Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the players who is the future of Team India, and also someone who should not be kept out of T20 cricket. He should be given a longer run. And now, he’s not there in the team,” Tiwary said.
“So, apart from these couple of statements, there are many things he said and then did the exact opposite. I always felt that he’s a hypocrite, and he’s always been a hypocrite,” he concluded.
