England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team are locking horns in third test of the ongoing five-match series at the Lord’s. On day four, Washington Sundar delivered a brilliant spell in the second innings. The right-arm spinner clinched four wickets and helped his team end the opposition’s innings under 200.

England lost four wickets for just 87 runs in the second innings. However, Ben Stokes and Joe Root etched a good partnership of 67 runs for the fifth wicket. Sundar gave India a big breakthrough by dismissing Root.

Later, he also dismissed Jamie Smith, Stokes, and Shoaib Bashir to complete his four-wicket haul. Notably, Root was a crucial wicket for India as he slammed a century in the first innings.

As Sundar castled Root’s leg stumps, Indian coach Gautam Gambhir was seen expressing his anger. He hurled some abusive words, and his reaction was caught on air. The video also went viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, England were bowled out for 192 runs in the second innings and set a target of 193 for India. During the chase, India lost four wickets for 58 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, and Shubman Gill lost their wickets cheaply. Ben Stokes dismissed nightwatchman Akash Deep on the last delivery on day four.

In the first innings, England piled up 387/10 with a century by Joe Root and half-centuries by Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse. Jasprit Bumrah clinched a five-wicket haul. India also posted 387/10 in the first innings, with a century by KL Rahul and fifties by Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja.
