Gautam Gambhir attended the final of Delhi Premier League 2025 recently.

In an intriguing exchange on the sidelines of Sunday’s Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 final, Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir was put on the spot. When asked to list Indian cricketers who matched a specific term that was tossed at him, Gambhir quickly came up with a number of answers.

DPL 2025 season came to an end with West Delhi Lions, led by Nitish Rana, defeating Central Delhi Kings in the final by six wickets to become champions.

Gautam Gambhir had attended the final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and, on the sidelines, engaged in conversations with the presenters. The presenter threw some words at Gambhir, and he had to name one Indian cricketer that he correlates to that word.

Virat Kohli named ‘desi boy’; Shubman Gill ‘most stylish’; Rishabh Pant called ‘funniest’

Gautam Gambhir quickly named his former Delhi and India teammate Virat Kohli when asked which player immediately springs to mind when he hears the term “Desi Boy.” The iconic batter, renowned for his brazen attitude and unwavering confidence on the field, did, in fact, suit the description to a tee.

Then, Gambhir claimed that when he hears the word “Clutch,” he thinks of the master Sachin Tendulkar. Gambhir promptly called star speedster Jasprit Bumrah for the word “Speed.”

Gambhir mentioned Nitish Rana, a former player for the Kolkata Knight Riders, when asked to pick a “Golden Arm.” Gambhir felt the word “Stylish” suited his new Indian test captain, Shubman Gill, perfectly.

Gambhir designated another of his cherished former teammates, VVS Laxman, as a “Run-machine” and his predecessor and batting legend, Rahul Dravid, as “Mr Consistent.”

Gambhir made a humorous comment on the flashy Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, comparing him to someone who is “Always Late.” When asked which cricket player is the funniest, he naturally chose Pant’s name.
