India will host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 entirely, starting on October 5.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will start in two weeks. India will be hosting the entire tournament, which will start on October 5 with a game between England and New Zealand. Ten teams will play in 48 games in the tournament that will run until November 19. Team India, who have not won an ICC tournament in the last decade, will be desperate to end this drought.
India will go with their full-strength team, and with home conditions, they are among the favorites to win the tournament. But what can India do to make their case stronger? Former Australia star Adam Gilchrist, who was part of Australia's World Cup-winning squads in 1999, 2003, and 2007, suggested Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid to consult Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, or Yuvraj Singh if required.

There is no doubt that the Indian team will leave no stone un-turned to win the coming World Cup. They won it the last time in 2011 under leadership of MS Dhoni at home. However, Adam Gilchrist reckons that the Indian team should consult with players like Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni, who were part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team, and even talk to Yuvraj Singh to take some time and talk with the current group.
In a discussion on Sportstar, Gilchrist said, "If I would be in the Indian hierarchy, I would be tapping into guys like Sachin (Tendulkar), MS (Dhoni) to come in and spend time with the group if they are available, and pass on all their experience. I would have tried to get guys like Yuvraj (Singh), who had so much going on in his life during that 2011 tournament, and ask them to speak openly about it."
Gilchrist also suggested that if the Indian team can avoid the outside noise and play to their potential, then they can play their best cricket. India will be hosting Australia for three ODIs just ahead of the World Cup 2023. According to Gilchrist, this will be the best preparation for both teams because both are among the contenders to win the tournament.
