Glenn Maxwell was retained for Rs 11 crores by RCB ahead of the IPL 2024.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set up for the opening fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai. However, RCB star batter Glenn Maxwell seems to be in a chill mood, as he was seen imitating his teammate Virat Kohli’s batting during training session.
Kohli was seen in the nets practicing his shots, while Australian player Maxwell was well behind him. RCB batter Maxwell was seen mimicking some of Kohli’s shots as well. Mohammed Siraj was also trying to simulate Kohli’s shots as well. Maxwell then even tried out Kohli’s style, where he tries to get his gloves into position. Siraj and Maxwell were also seen sharing some fun moments between themselves.

The Australian player was also seen giving some advice as Kohli played some fantastic strokes at the nets ahead of the blockbuster Southern Derby. Both sides will take on each other at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22.
Here is the viral video:
RCB will be looking to improve their record at the CSK’s den as they have managed to win only one match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, which came 16 years ago in the IPL 2008. They have lost on seven other occasions. Meanwhile, defending champions CSK will again start as favourites given the spin bowling options they have, while RCB’s spin resources will be tested given the lack of options.
The Bengaluru-based franchise will once depend on their batting, but this time they will not depend heavily on the top three players, Faf du Plessis, Kohli, and Maxwell, as they have a good batting unit till No. 6, which includes Cameron Green, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik as well.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad for IPL 2024:
Faf du Plessis (c), Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Suyash Prabhudessai, Will Jacks, Mahipal Lomror, Karn Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Mayank Dagar, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, Rajan Kumar, Cameron Green, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Tom Curran, Lockie Ferguson, Swapnil Singh, Saurav Chauhan.
