Three teams won all four games in the league stage of T20 World Cup 2026.

The Super 8 Round of T20 World Cup 2026 will commence on February 21 and will witness a battle among top eight teams in the tournament. They are divided into four teams of two groups- Group 1 and 2. The Super 8 round will see a total of 12 matches, meaning that each team will play three matches against opponents of their pool.

After the completion of the Super 8 round, the top two teams from each group will book a berth in two semi-finals, while the winners of the semis will lock horns in the summit clash.

The league stage of T20 World Cup 2026 saw a few thrilling and close-fought matches. The Afghanistan vs South Africa clash, which witnessed two Super Overs, was the highlight of the group stage.

Zimbabwe overpowering mighty teams like Australia and Sri Lanka were two biggest upsets in the tournament. Also, Australia’s first-round exit was a shocking as well.

In the group stage of T20 World Cup 2026, five teams were divided into four groups and played four games each. The top two teams from each group made it to Round 2 of the 20-team tournament, while the remaining three were eliminated.

Group A- India

The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. were unbeaten in the league stage, winning four games in a row. They won convincingly against USA, Namibia, Pakistan, and Netherlands and earned eight points in their kitty. India‘s Net Run Rate (NRR) of +2.50 was the highest among all the other 19 teams in the tournament.

Group B- Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe have proved to be the underdogs in this edition of T20 World Cup. The Sikandar Raza & Co. won three games out of four, crushing Oman, Australia, and Sri Lanka. Their one game against Ireland was washed out due to rain. With seven points and an NNR of +1.506, Zimbabwe were the most successful side in their pool.

Group C- West Indies

Two-time champions West Indies ended at the peak of the Group C points table with eight points, winning all four matches like a walk in the park. They proved their might on Indian soil by crushing England, Scotland, Italy, and Nepal. Therefore, the Shai Hope & Co. have been unbeaten in the tournament so far.

Group D- South Africa

Despite South Africa being part of a close-fought game against Afghanistan, they have managed to win all of their matches in the league stage. The Aiden Markram & Co. outplayed Canada, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and UAE in back-to-back encounters to steal the top slot in Group D. They concluded the league stage with eight points and an NRR of +1.943.
