Rohit Sharma-led India won the test series 1-0 after rain forced a draw in the second test at Port of Spain.

After rain washed out the entire 5th day of the second test at Queens Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was a little disappointed. Team India missed an opportunity to whitewash West Indies and also consolidate the top position in the World Test Championship table. Both teams settled for a draw and shared 4 WTC points each from the game.

Rohit Sharma was happy with India’s series win against West Indies and also revealed India's positive mindset on a dead wicket on day 4. India’s batting order went aggressively against West Indies pace attack after getting 183 runs lead in the first innings and doubled it in just 24 overs. Rohit and Ishan Kishan played magnificent fifty-plus knocks.

Rohit reveals India went with Positive intent

Captain Rohit Sharma said, “We actually went out with positive intent yesterday, wanting to get a result. We were confident and we knew how difficult it would be to bat last. We always wanted the kind of score where the teams went for it. The opposition in the dressing room should think we have a chance”.

Talking about the rain and India’s series win, Rohit expressed, “Every win is different. Playing in the West Indies or in India had its own challenge. I am very happy with how things went there. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any play today”. Team India needed to pick 8 wickets on the final day to win the series 2-0 against the Windies.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma also praised his leader in pace bowling for the tour Mohammed Siraj. Rohit said, “Siraj over the years has taken a giant step in his career. He has led the attack wonderfully in the absence of Bumrah and Shami but you don’t want to depend on one or two individuals”.

Mohammed Siraj picked up 5 wickets in the first innings and rattled Windies on just 255 giving India a lead of 183 runs. This series win came right after the disappointment of the WTC Final loss against Australia. Rohit praised India’s effort and said, “Except for the WTC Final we have played good cricket throughout that phase. To improve on all three aspects is what we want to focus on”
