Harbhajan Singh recalls slapping Sreesanth in IPL 2008, says he is ashamed of the incident

Harbhajan Singh slapped Sreesanth during the first season of the IPL.

There was another match between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir in the Indian Premier League. They renewed their intense personal rivalry after almost 10 years. Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh had also reacted to the personal battle between two of India's biggest superstars not just in Indian cricket but also in world cricket. Harbhajan Singh recalled his tussle with former Indian pace bowler Sreesanth. Harbhajan Singh slapped Sreesanth in the first season of the IPL after he as a captain of Mumbai Indians lost a game against Kings XI Punjab.

Harbhajan Singh ashamed of 2008 incident

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh posted a video on Twitter and said that Virat is a corld class player and a legend and should not get involved in such situations. He also recounted his fight with Sreesanth and said, “I am ashamed of what I did with Sreesanth in 2008. Virat Kohli is a legend, should not get involved in such things. Whatever happened between Virat and Gambhir was not right for cricket”. Harbhajan and Sreesanth were part of the Indian team when this incident happened. They both went on to win the World Cup in 2011.  

Apart from a low-scoring thriller, Lucknow’s Ekana also saw several verbal spats between players. Virat Kohli first said a few words to Lucknow’s Naveen ul Haq and then he later kept signaling Amit Mishra to keep Naveen calm. Later, They both shared an intense handshake and exchanged a few words, where Glenn Maxwell came in between to intervene. After all this drama one big thing was still left to happen in the game.

Delhi and Indian teammates Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli once again had a fight in the IPL. They both share a personal battle in this league which began in the IPL 2013 when Virat was RCB’s captain and Gambhir was leading Kolkata Knight Riders. There was a heated conversation between the two again on Monday night when Gambhir pulled Kyle Mayers away from Virat Kohli.
