Harbhajan Singh responded to a fan's tweet, who glorified former India captain MS Dhoni after India's ICC WTC final loss.

India’s wait for an ICC Trophy has extended for some time as they lose the World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval. Australia defeated India by a convincing margin of 209 runs. India last won an ICC Trophy was in 2013 Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni’s leadership. Under his tenure MS Dhoni led India to 3 ICC Tournaments, one T20 World Cup, one 50-over World Cup, one Champions Trophy. Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has retorted to a fan's tweet praising and giving credit to former Indian captain MS Dhoni for all three ICC titles. Harbhajan Singh responded to his tweet and said, “win together, lose together”.

Harbhajan Singh's reply to a fan

After India’s defeat in the WTC Final, one fan tweeted, “No coach, No mentor, young boy’s, most of the senior player’s denied to take part. Never captained any single match before, This guy defeated prime Australia in semi finals and won a T20 World Cup in 48 days after becoming captain”.

To this former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh responded, “Yes when these matches were played this young boy was playing alone from India, not the other 10. So alone he won the World Cup trophies. Irony, When Australia on any other nation with the World Cup, headlines say Australia or etc country won. But when India wins it’s said the captain won. It’s a team sport, win together, lose together”

This is not the first time former cricketers have an outburst against fans giving such opinions. Earlier Gautam Gambhir also talked about 2011 World Cup win being a complete team effort rather than crediting just one man. India have lost the last 4 ICC Finals they have played in all three formats. The next ICC tournament will be played in India as a 50-over World Cup in October and November. India lost the semi final against New Zealand in the previous edition of the 2019 World Cup.
