Hardik Pandya twisted his ankle in a game against Bangladesh in Pune.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has seen Indian team emerge as the top-contenders to lift the trophy. They have defeated every team they have played in this event. Because of this, they are currently leading the points table and are just a few victories away from advancing to the semi-finals. In Dharamsala, India recently defeated New Zealand.

Due to an ankle ailment, Hardik Pandya was unable to participate in the previous game. He missed the following game against New Zealand after twisting his ankle during Bangladesh match in Pune. Earlier, some reports confirmed that he would be fit for India's upcoming match on Sunday. India's next game is against England, which will take place in Lucknow.

Hardik Pandya will miss next game vs England on Sunday due to Ligament damage

India went with two changes to compensate for Hardik's role in the game against New Zealand in Dharamsala. They gave a chance to Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami. The pacer did well and took 5/54, but Suryakumar was unfortunate to get out for two runs. But it looks like India will have to go with the similar team in the next game. According to ESPN Cricinfo, Hardik Pandya will be missing the next game.

It means he is not available for England clash on Sunday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The all-rounder has slight ligament damage and will undergo a fitness test scheduled for Thursday. Notably, Rohit Sharma confirmed that there is no major damage to the all-rounder.

Hardik Pandya is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He has not started bowling practice and is expected to start at the weekend. However, with the pitch in Lucknow assisting spinners, India might look to add Ravi Ashwin to the squad. But it will not be easy to write off England. India's next fixture is against Sri Lanka on November 2 at the Wankhede Stadium.
