Major set-back for Indian cricket team, as Hardik Pandya is set to remain side-lined for the upcoming matches. The all-rounder sustained a left ankle injury during India vs Bangladesh game in Pune. The injury occurred as he attempted to stop a powerful drive from Liton Das. After undergoing scans and medical evaluation, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Pandya would not accompany the team to Dharamshala for their clash against New Zealand.
Initially, it was hoped that Pandya would return for the game against England in Lucknow on October 29. However, recent developments indicate that his recovery may take longer than anticipated. Pandya has not yet resumed bowling, and the medical team are taking a cautious approach. He is currently rehabilitating at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and is expected to re-join Indian team in either Mumbai or Kolkata.
