Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of India's next match against New Zealand in Dharamsala.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya is ruled out of India’s next scheduled World Cup game against New Zealand in Dharamshala on Sunday. Pandya sustained an injury on his left ankle when he slipped while attempting to stop a straight drive from Litton Das in his followthrough. Pandya was rushed back to the dugout and taken for scans. He couldn’t take part further in the game against Bangladesh in Pune. Though the scan reports show nothing serious, Pandya will need 6-7 days to recover.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released an official update regarding Hardik Pandya’s injury and announced that Pandya will be missing India's next match against New Zealand in Dharamsala. India will face New Zealand in their next league match at Dharamsala on Sunday, 22nd October.

When will Hardik Pandya return to Indian team ?

As per the BCCI's statement, Hardik will be making his comeback against England in Lucknow. Hardik twisted his ankle badly to get relief from pain and recover from the injury, he will need 6-7 days rest. Team India will be playing against England on 29th October (Sunday), a week after India’s big clash against New Zealand in Dharamshala.

The official BCCI update states that Hardik Pandya will not be taking flight to Dharamshala on 20th October and he will join back in the Indian camp in Lucknow. “The all-rounder was taken for scans and is advised to rest. He will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. He will not be taking the flight to Dharamsala with the team on 20th October and will now join the team directly in Lucknow where India plays England.” reads the BCCI statement.

The medical team of the Indian team will be keeping all-rounder Hardik Pandya under constant supervision. Luckily, India will not be playing many games in the next 10 days and Pandya will only miss one game for the team in an important multi-national tournament. Team India have had a domineering run in the tournament so far as they have won all 4 league games so far. India will be taking on table-toppers New Zealand who are also unbeaten in the tournament.
