India posted a 200-run win in the 3rd ODI to pocket the series 2-1.

Stand-in India captain for the last two ODIs against West Indies, Hardik Pandya was critical of the arrangements done by the West Indies cricket board (CWI) for the ongoing tour as he openly urged them to do better when India tours the Caribbean next.

After India hammered West Indies by 200 runs in the third ODI to seal the three-match series 2-1, Hardik made no attempts to hide his displeasure about the travel plans and other arrangements.

In order to offer additional opportunities to young players like Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad, regular skipper Rohit Sharma and ace batter Virat Kohli were rested for the second time in a row.

Daren Ganga, a well-known commentator, and former West Indies opener, questioned Hardik on the amenities at the Brian Cricket Stadium in Tarouba, which held its first ODI, during the post-match presentation ceremony.

Hardik Pandya praised the stadium by calling it “one of the nicest” venues but the all-rounder was quick to switch to highlighting the shortcomings of the West Indies Cricket Board during India’s tour.

He complained that the Indian team was not provided “basic necessities”.

“This was one of the nicest grounds we have played. Things can be better when we come to West Indies next time. From travelling to managing a lot of things. Last year also, some hiccups happened. I think it’s time for West Indies Cricket to take note of it and make sure that when a team travels… We don’t ask for luxury but we need some basic necessities taken care of. Other than that, really enjoyed coming here and playing some good cricket,” Hardik Pandya said.

He also wished the hosts’ board takes notes and rectifies the issues for the future.

Indian players unhappy with travel arrangements during the tour

The Indian cricket team had already complained to the BCCI about their late-night journey from Trinidad to Barbados being delayed by nearly four hours, leaving them exhausted before the opening ODI of the series. Senior cricketers even asked the BCCI to stop scheduling late-night flights when there is only a small window of time between games.
