Hardik Pandya taken for scans after injuring ankle vs Bangladesh; Ruled out of the 1st innings

Hardik Pandya has been taken for scans after sustaining ankle injury in Pune.
Team India are currently taking on Bangladesh at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune to keep their unbeaten run going in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Team India suffered a massive injury scare in the game when all-rounder Hardik Pandya twisted his left ankle while attempting to stop Litton Das' shot. Pandya had to walk back without finishing his first over. Pandya had a terrible fall and was in severe pain.

The Indian all-rounder immediately called for medical assessment and was carried out of the field after treatment. Pandya bowled just three deliveries and conceded two boundaries. After that, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had to introduce Virat Kohli to complete the remainder of the over. BCCI in an official update has informed that Hardik Pandya is now being taken for the scans. Hardik Pandya will not be taking the field against Bangladesh in Pune.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also informed that the medical team of the Indian camp is continuously working and assessing Pandya’s injury and the all-rounder has been taken for scans. The final update on Pandya’s injury and his participation will come after the scan reports come out. Indian team management will be hoping for a quick recovery as they do not want to lose their key player in mid mid-World Cup.
Earlier, commentator Nasser Hussain informed during the game that Hardik Pandya will not be taking the field as it is not just a simple niggle but a serious injury. He will be allowed to bat only after 5 wickets or team India had batted more than 120 minutes in their innings. He also informed that Hardik Pandya has suffered an internal injury and he has to wait for his time to come back in the field. Team India will be looking to use a part-timer in Pune.
Team India made a roaring comeback against Bangladesh. Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das added 93 runs for the first wicket and Tanzid was dominating the India bowling attack early on. Kuldeep got Tanzid plumb in front and from there on team India picked up 3 quick wickets. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (8) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (3) perished early in their innings. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Bangladesh skipper Najmul while Mohammed Siraj got Miraz out.
