England white-ball captain Harry Brook has heaped praise on India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant ahead of the second test of the five-match test series. The second test between England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team will take place from July 2 at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Rishabh Pant will be a big hurdle for England bowlers in the next test following his marvellous batting show in the opening game at Headingley, Leeds. The Indian vice-captain hammered two centuries in the Headingley test, scoring 134 runs and 118 runs. However, his brilliant knocks went in vain as India eventually lost the match by five wickets.

With his marvellous batting show in the first test, Rishabh Pant broke multiple batting records. Pant surpassed MS Dhoni’s record of most test tons by an Indian wicket-keeper batter in tests. He also became first ever Indian batter to hit twin test tons in England.

Rishabh Pant is one of the best batters in the world: Harry Brook

During a conversation with The Hindu, England middle-order batter Brook termed Pant as one of the best batters in international cricket. Brook also added that he enjoyed Pant’s batting in the first test.

“He is an awesome player. I enjoyed watching him bat. He’s an eye-catcher; everyone turns on the television when he bats. In my opinion, he is one of the best batters in the world,” Brook said.

Brook scored an outstanding 99 in the first innings of the Headingley test. However, he was gone for a duck in the second innings. Meanwhile, England lead the five-match series 1-0 after winning the opening game. With a century by Ben Duckett, the hosts chased down a 371-run target in the first test.

The Ben Stokes & Co. have named the same playing XI for the second test. On the other hand, the visitors are expected to make some changes in their playing XI following a poor bowling show in the first game.
